چکیده

bstract—Food intake is an essential human activity reguated by homeostatic and hedonic systems in the brain which as mostly been ignored by the cognitive neurosciences. Yet, he study of food intake integrates fundamental cognitive and motional processes in the human brain, and can in particuar provide evidence on the neural correlates of the hedonic xperience central to guiding behaviour. Neuroimaging exeriments provide a novel basis for the further exploration of he brain systems involved in the conscious experience of leasure and reward, and thus provide a unique method for tudying the hedonic quality of human experience. Recent euroimaging experiments have identified some of the reions involved in the cortical networks mediating hedonic xperience in the human brain, with the evidence suggesting hat the orbitofrontal cortex is the perhaps strongest candiate for linking food and other kinds of reward to hedonic xperience. Based on the reviewed literature, a model is roposed to account for the roles of the different parts of the rbitofrontal cortex in this hedonic network. © 2004 IBRO. ublished by Elsevier Ltd. Food for thought: hedonic experience beyond homeostasis in the human brain.

Food intake is an essential human activity regulated by homeostatic and hedonic systems in the brain which has mostly been ignored by the cognitive neurosciences. Yet, the study of food intake integrates fundamental cognitive and emotional processes in the human brain, and can in particular provide evidence on the neural correlates of the hedonic experience central to guiding behaviour. Attentional Modulation of Brain Responses to Primary Appetitive and Aversive Stimuli

Studies of subjective well-being have conventionally relied upon self-report, which directs subjects' attention to their emotional experiences. This method presumes that attention itself does not influence emotional processes, which could bias sampling. We tested whether attention influences experienced utility (the moment-by-moment experience of pleasure) by using functional magnetic resonance...

Does Age Matter in Mobile User Experience? Impact of Age on Relative Importance of Antecedents of Mobile User Experience

Interest in user experience (UX) has grown as both academics and practitioners perceive that focusing on functional usability provides only a limited understanding of human computer interaction. UX is a comprehensive concept that goes beyond usability and utilitarian aspects of technology use, to include the non-utilitarian, aesthetic, emotional and experiential aspects. A growing body of resea...

Flood zoning estimation and river management by using HEC-RAS and GIS model

Reliable estimates of river stream fl ow and fl ood zoning maps are needed for water resourcesmanagement such as fl ood mitigation, water supply, dam construction and irrigation. Flood zoning needsaccurate data and is one of the non-structural fl ood management methods. This paper describes theapplication of HEC-RAS and GIS model to determine fl oodplains maps for the part of Sardabrud Rivertha...

'Liking' and 'wanting' food rewards: brain substrates and roles in eating disorders.

What brain reward systems mediate motivational 'wanting' and hedonic 'liking' for food rewards? And what roles do those systems play in eating disorders? This article surveys recent findings regarding brain mechanisms of hedonic 'liking', such as the existence of cubic-millimeter hedonic hotspots in nucleus accumbens and ventral pallidum for opioid amplification of sensory pleasure. It also con...
